it was just a little over a year ago that we first shipped our mrs. lincoln’s lace yarn to our bare naked club members, along with two pretty designs—empreinte and feuillage—in which to knit it. the yarn was an instant hit and continues to be popular with customers who enjoy knitting lace.
it is light and sheer, yet substantial; lace pieces knit with this lincoln/rambouillet blend have a warm, earthy quality and provide a pretty layer that stands up sturdily to the bitterest of january winds.
and now it is with great pleasure that we can share these design with everyone as well, for they are just perfect for the latest addition to our yarn collection—chebris lace—but also translate beautifully into the color grown cotton lace we are all attracted to during this hottest month of the year (at least it is so where we live).
in fact, i’ve cast on for a new empreinte in the forest mist color of the organic color grown cotton lace we have added to the growing lace yarn category in our online shop.
i can’t wait to get further into it; i plan to do so while relaxing with friends in ft. collins over this holiday weekend.
soon i’ll have a cool, sleek version of this pretty shawl, which will be perfect for packing along on trips. i love knowing i have a pretty (and useful) scarf tucked into my traveling bag at all times.
but it was a real challenge to choose between the cotton and the chebris mohair blend; i finally decided that chebris would be perfect instead for a new sample of feuillage . . .
its super soft halo and sheen will add some magic to this wide scarf or stole, don’t you think?
both of these pretty designs are offered in three sizes—each includes a generous scarf size plus two larger shawl/stole versions.
the samples shown here are the smallest sizes to make with a little less than one skein each of chebris or mrs. lincoln’s lace—you can see that they are generous, too.
ready to explore the possibilities further?
click here to view more information about the empreinte crescent shawl or here to read about the feuillage rectangle scarf/stole. you may also view them in my ravelry pattern shop—click here for empreinte and here for feuillage.
perpetual KALs for these projects and other club favorites are running live at all times in our swinging BNK clubhouse on ravelry—don’t be shy; you needn’t be club a member to join in the fun (but we hope you’ll consider it at some point!).
of course. both these designs are included in the 2013 BNK eBook, which is overflowing with wonderful information about the yarns we produce as well as fourteen patterns custom designed to go with them.
you can get a better idea of the versatility of these pieces by visiting the project pages for both empreinte and feuillage, where club members have shared their versions in both the original yarn and various other options, as well as a range of sizes.
well i hope everyone reading this is enjoying a safe and relaxing holiday weekend; stay cool and keep knitting. i’ll be back on sunday with a post about my exciting travels this past week.

That lace is beautiful! There is just something so pretty about lace in natural colours 🙂
Beautiful! Very nice lace!
These beautiful creations reminded me of working on Isodora! These beautiful creations are raising my pulse rate. Have fun in Ft. Collins.
I just started my Wandering Thyme in that same Forest Mist colorway…the cotton is lovely to work within this hot holiday!
I had forgotten just how beautiful this shawl was. There are just not enough knitting hours in the day for me at the moment!
