hellebores

now that fall is here for sure with its cooler days, our thoughts might be turning to accessories that add just a light layer of warmth—not enough to break a sweat, but something to take the chill off during the morning commute. and then there is the need to keep one’s coiffure in place on those blustery days, more frequent now . . .

a little lace beret does the trick, paired with a set of ruffled cuffs to make a statement. add them to a suit jacket in the morning when it’s chilly and tuck them into a pocket later on, when the day turns warm. then presto—back on again for the evening walk home. so small and easy, you might decide you need two sets.

shown here, hat and cuffs in size small, worked in miss babs yet lace yarn, a merino/silk blend, in colorway outback .

many thanks to the wonderful miss babs for providing the yarn to knit this project—babs has so many beautiful colorways, it’s hard to pick just one! you can see all of her gorgeous yarns and fibers in her online shop (i’ll wait while you go look). and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see babs and her yarns in person at one of her upcoming shows. thank you babs!

and now let’s look at the rest of the pictures, courtesy of david . . .
