Tesserae Sock

Posted on Posted in patterns

just one word for these i thinkβ€”tile-icious
(that is, if you don’t count, sleek, sophisticated, and understated.)

they’re perfect for my favorite house artist. they would, of course, work with a suit as well.

  1. I like this sock pattern very much. It is one of those patterns that I find attractive from a distance, and then it draws me in and I like it even more as I look at the details.

  2. When you posted that sock earlier — I searched for the pattern thinking I missed it. Whew. Okay — time to make another purchase. πŸ˜‰ I just have to graft the toe on the giant husband sock and then the first one is DONE! (Now I just have to get the courage up to make the 2nd one.)

  3. Oh, that’s just gorgeous. The yarn is the “Burgundy Bean” color from Woolen Rabbit, right? I can’t find that on her site…help?

  4. I’m so far behind on blogs.. sorry, my friend. The flu took me out of action for about 4 days now. (groan)
Tesserae is outstanding… stunning. It would be such a comfortable sock πŸ™‚

  5. These socks are fantastic! I hope you had a great time last night with the signing– I would have been there if I could but we had soccer last night and I couldn’t get away quick enough.

  6. Very nice, and yes, the photos do compliment the pattern! Love them. The yarn is just perfect for the sock.

  7. Everything about those socks is fabulous–the yarn, the pattern, and the color. I had been thinking that only cables would pull in tightly enough to keep socks from sagging on my skinny ankles, but you’ve proved me wrong. I’ll have to rethink knit-purl patterns.

  8. I’ve been waiting for just the right pattern for a skein of Kim’s red flannel sock yarn. I think this might be it.

  9. I love these socks. Even though I am not a frequent socks knitter, I would knit this up in a heart beat. Maybe I can make several of them for presents this year, hee, hee.

  10. Thank you! May I ask — do you have any suggestions for how to achieve you perfect picked-up stitches at the heel? I always end up with a rather sloppy line.

  11. Glad your electricity stayed on so you could post this pattern. Mine was off for 18 hours – and I could have used a pair of these in my 54 degree house! Maybe I’ll get them done for the next time.

  12. I’ve been poring over my sock pattern binders trying to choose just the right sock to knit for my husband and I think I just found it! Off to download the pattern… πŸ˜‰
