wiggle mitt

a cozy, soft yarn enhances the squishy cabled goodness of these warm-but-lightweight mitts. the fine fabric is dense enough to keep out the cold and still allow plenty of hand dexterity. the heavier cabled fabric along the back makes a nice windbreaker and adds plenty of textured interest.

the yummy merino/angora handspun yarn for this project was a provided by cheryl, whose beautiful spinning fiber and yarn can be found in her etsy shop, NewHueHandspuns.
thank you very much to rachel, for her hard work in making the patterns the best they can be.

  1. Okay, but where is the wiggle hat!!! Love the pattern, off to purchase it. And I really want a hat to match! Love your blog and patterns, even if I can’t get them all knitted up!

  2. Love the mitts Anne. Your handspun looks great. Think you got enough leaves out there??? Good grief!

  3. Hm…. I really like that mitt in your handspun. The cables really pop! I’ve got some gray Romney that might be just perfect for that pattern.

  4. I’ve been away for a week and a half and so much has happened on your blog. I love the gray colourway on the wiggle mitt, lovely. And what a great repair job on the shawl. The knitter must have been horrified when she first saw it. I’m queasy just thinking of it.

We were at the Baltimore Stitches show and all seems to be well in the knitting world. I bought a couple of your patterns there and hope to work on the orchid mitts for a christmas present for my sister who’s hands freeze when she works at her computer. The other 2 shawl patterns I bought may have to wait although I would love to make the small version of the Wing of the Moth shawl soon. It’s time to hunker down and work on cosy projects.

  5. When I saw these mitts, I thought “love the pinks and purples”, but then I scrolled down and saw the gray. I really like the gray mitts.

  6. Both versions look terrific! I’m partial to your gray handspun, but it’s nice to see how well the pattern works with a more vibrant colorway. Versatility is a good thing!

  7. These mitts have a whimsical, fun nature to them, at least to me. They look as though they’re dancing! I really love them.

  8. Pretty mitts!

I just have to chime in with some love for your beautiful pieces in the new Twist, too. Really lovely.
