in this month of father’s day, briar rose chris and i would like to present the first in a collaborative series of socks to celebrate the men behind our fiber endeavors. they pack boxes, troubleshoot websites, build displays, vacuum, and above all, wholeheartedly inspire and fire our dreams.
why, they deserve namesake socks.
david’s sock is a composition of playful knit/purl openwork mixed with cushy garter-rib trimmings; it’s complex to the eye, but simply to work and comfy to wear—like david himself. yum.

i can’t say enough how much fun it is to work with my friend chris—she’s always up for a collaborative project “with a twist”, happily mixing special colorways to suit (and not just for me, but for anyone)! her online shop is a delight—please go!

The man behind my knitting just had a business trip to Berlin, Germany. He scoured the store for a local yarn shop, and came home with 5 balls each of 5 different yarns in a rainbow of colors. Life just doesn’t get any better than that.
Now I’ll have to size up a beautiful man sock for him, he wears a size 14. (It’s not a job, it’s an adventure.)
I’m impressed with the courage to let David model the sock outside sans shoe.

Yes, finally the pattern is available. I love the pattern and can’t wait to work on the heel design. I have already downloaded it and purchased two different colorways in Grandma’s Blessing from Briar Rose Fibers to make the socks. Can’t wait for the yarn to arrive. Even though they are “David’s Socks” they will soon be converted to “Kath’s Socks”!! 🙂 I do have plans however to make a pair for my husband and maybe even for my dad for Christmas as a nice surprise!
