the weather this summer offers great reasons to knit fun little scarves all year ’round—even warm days are likely to turn chilly and it’s good to be prepared, especially when traveling. there’s always room in the suitcase for a little something not-to-heavy with a bit of pageantry. this scarf works a treat—no one will ever remember you wore that same linen outfit twice.

sylvie and jacque are the makers of some of the most incredible lace yarns available to us. sylvie is an enthusiastic supporter of lace design and generously provided the yarn used to knit this scarf (and others, thank you sylvie!). if you haven’t been to their fibre-isle website, you should go—beautiful yarns await you.
our friend carol was kind enough to test knit the scarf pattern to make sure it was all working smoothly and i appreciate her so much for it!
and many thanks to ronni who, among other great things she does, makes sure every pattern is ship-shape before you get hold of it.
and i really have to thank norma for a great photography tip she mentioned just before we did the modeling shots—it worked. btw, norma would love for you to involved in the red scarf project for this year by knitting a really nice red scarf for an student with great aspirations—check it out.

i love it – it is so beautiful
Beautiful scarf and those tomato plants are unbelievably tall!
Anne…..it’s lovely and you look lovely in it! Well done!
Anne, you’ve another winner in this scarf! It’s a wonderful design and the color is perfect for you.
The scarf is lovely! I’m wondering if the edges will lie flat. I recently knitted a scarf I still truly love, but even with a skinny garter stitch edge, it still curl in. I used a silk/bamboo blend. Does that make a difference?
Thanks for posting the photos. It really is beautiful.
You know I had never noticed your tattoo before now. That is kewl! Oh and I love the scarf. As always beautiful!!
Absolutely beautiful! I love how the ladders make it so open and airy.
Stunning and elegant!!! (and the scarf ain’t so bad, neither….) 😀
Thanks for the Red Scarf shout-out, and yay that the photog tip worked. Who knew I could impart ANYthing worth anything re photography? Hee.
Gorgeous!!!
I love your simple geometric patterns. Combined with the open work, this is a winner. Will you offer this in more than one size?
The color is great on you.
Yet another amazing design!
Another lovely project! I can’t believe I never noticed your tattoo before. And it coordinates with Pompa…lol.
Gorgeous! Both you and the scarf 🙂 That color is fabulous on you.
I love it!
You look like the essence of summer in that crisp white linen, and the scarf is gorgeous on you.
LOVE the tattoo also.
Just beautiful, of course! 🙂 I am jealous of your tattoo…I’d love to get one myself….:)
i love your scarf and all the pins you used to accessorize it.
What a beautiful new pattern, Anne! I’m looking forward to seeing it and all your new beauties at Sock Summit. I love the 2/day idea, too. That, along with deep breathing, is helping me stay calm as we prepare for Sock Summit, too.
tres cute!
Thats a lovely scarf and looks great on.
not only is the scarf stunning, you are too. i love how the color pops on the white of your shirt. it’s a good color for you!!
Your ink is gorgeous and, as always, so are you and your scarf!
But what is this about summer days turning chilly? If it’s true, Ohio must be a magical land indeed. 🙂 Here in Houston, we’re not likely to see chilly again until October…
Hi,
Have any of your patterns been officially approved for the red scarf project? I’d love to contribute, and have some great red top of the lamb, but I’d like to knit something I’ll enjoy at the time. The pompa scarf doesn’t seem too girly to me, nor does punch and judy or the coral reef, but I don’t want to spend them time away from holiday and grandchild knits and then have them feel the scarf is not correct…
Beautiful scarf! Beautiful images!
Dying to know the photography tip…but would you have to kill me after telling me! 🙂
Happy Monday!!
