Almost Ovals

Distinct ribs of stockinette crisscross gently over a purl background, creating a deeply-carved pattern that is further accented by eyelet highlighting. The stitch pattern looks to be cabled, but is achieved with simple decreases and has a pretty reverse side as well. This project is a good all ‘rounder for beginning and experienced knitters alike.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size. 

Suggested Yarns: Sweet Georgia Cashsilk or Merino Silk Lace, Buffalo Gold Lux, Louet Mooi, The Natural Dye Studio Angel Lace, Woolen Rabbit Chantilly, Lark Lace or Tranquilo, Posh Yarn Eva, Jaggerspun Zephyr, or any laceweight yarn which has approximately 400 yards per 2 ounces.

Finished Size: 11 inches wide and 52 inches in length (stretched and blocked)

Yarn Requirements: 380 yards

Gauge: 26 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette (unblocked; fabric will be relaxed)

Needles: size 3US (3.25 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge
