Crazy Quilt Scarf

The main stitch pattern of this scarf is reminiscent of a crazy quilt, with its erratic changes in direction, but is balanced by an orderly border of garter rib at each hem. The motifs pop in a solid yarn, but are strong enough to stand up to one that has some texture or color variation. This scarf is fun project that knits up quickly and is highly portable—it’s the perfect piece to work on while watching TV or spectator sports.

Finished Size: 8 inches wide and 64 inches long (washed and blocked)

Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on smaller (body) needle

size 8US (5 mm) for hems (or one size larger than body needle)
size 7US (4.5 mm) for body (or size to obtain correct gauge)
