Helen Sock, a comfy, slouchy, top-down sock can be made in four different sizes (XS/Small/Medium/Large) to fit just about anyone we know. With a quick and easy knit/purl motif, making them for gifts is a pleasure (and putting oneself on the gift list is not at all unreasonable).
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and elasticity.
