A pretty rectangle in three sizes (scarf/petite/tall), worked in a vertical composition of delicate pea vines dotted with nupps (add or substitute beads if desired). Piece is worked from hem to center back in two pieces, then grafted afterward. Despite its intricate appearance, this piece travels well and knits up quickly to make a special accessory for the gardener in each of us.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size.
Suggested Yarns:
Woolen Rabbit Pandora or Bambino, Knitting Notions Classic Merino Bamboo, Spirit Trail Sunna, Zen Yarn Garden Bamboo Delight, String Theory Bamboo Merino, Old Maiden Aunt Merino/Bamboo 4-ply, Sundara Fingering Silky Merino, Posh Sylvia 4-ply, Fyberspates Scrumptious 4ply, or any soft fingering yarn with 400-450 yards per 4 ounces
Finished Size:
13(20.5, 24) inches wide and 60(72, 84) inches long (stretched and blocked)
Yarn Requirements:
500(1000, 1300) yards
Gauge:
24 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette (unblocked; fabric will be relaxed)
Needles:
size 4US (3.5 mm) circular needle (or size to obtain correct gauge)
DPNs same size for final join (optional)
