Stocking Cap for all Sizes

This stocking cap in 18 sizes knits up quickly in a range of yarn weights to fit any individual head. Optional tassel or pom-pom trim may be added. Includes worksheet for determining hat size, gauge, and cast-on number.

Suggested Yarns: Fearless Fibers Classic Merino Worsted, Briar Rose Collette, Mission Falls 1824 wool, Lorna’s Laces Shepherd’s Worsted, Nashua Handknits Aran weight, Cascade 220, Plymouth Tweed, Classic Alpaca, or any DK-to-chunky weight yarn

Finished Size: hat will range from 15 to 24 inches finished (above ribbing) to fit heads ranging from 17 to 27 inches; final size is determined by gauge, yarn, and needle choices

Yarn requirements: 100 to 200 yards of worsted weight yarn; 125 to 250 yards of DK yarn; 80 to 150 yards of chunky weight yarn

Gauge: 3.5 to 5 sts per inch; individual gauge to be calculated on worksheet included. Test swatch should be a firmly-knit fabric

Needles: 16-inch circular needle in the size recommended on the yarn label for body, 16-inch circular needle one size smaller for ribbing (optional), 1 set DPNs in same size as body needle
