cornrows mittens and hat

a fun winter set to knit for yourself or someone special, that also does a good job of keeping out wind and cold, with its snug, dense texture. knit in a bright colorway as shown, to accent a dark coat or make it up in a neutral tone or tweed for a more understated look.

shown above: size medium mittens in yummy serenity worsted, colorway tealicious, from zen yarn garden

hat in size small shown below in the same warm, cozy yarn

roxanne at zen yarn garden is an enthusiastic partner in crime—she is constantly tempting me with her gorgeous yarns and fiber blends. you can see lots, LOTS more wonderful stuff in her online shop, but i’m warning you—leave a trail of crumbs or you might get lost there . . .

  1. Adorable, just what I need to knit for myself…love the color…will definately jingle some change. 🙂

  2. Anne,

Beautiful stuff as alaways – really inspiring.

I knit ivy vines this weekend in the hospital with my mom and have a question. on the first row shift in the ivy vine pattern there was a yarn over before the shift. The pattern did not work correctly until I omitted the yarn over. I don’t know if I screwed up or if I shouldn’t have done the yarn over. I am only mentioning this because your patterns are so good and clear and lovely. thank you for all your work.

thank you for providing such wonderful inspiration to the knitting world.

    happy holidays.

  3. I am sooooo totally amazed at how much (and how fast) you knit! I am so jealous! 😉 Your beautiful knitting and FO’s are always inspirational. I love the vibrant colors I’ve seen, especially in the red scarves and the cornrows mittens and hat set. Thanks for such a great blog. I enjoy reading each and every entry. Looking forward to reading many, many, many more.
