Hi! It’s me Sarah! Anne is in sunny San Diego spending some time with her friend Kim. What a perfect way to spend a birthday! Anne has been texting me photos of her trip and I can’t resist sharing them with you.

When she arrived, this was a little something on the bathroom counter from Kim.

Kim loves her special soaps!

David sent along some gorgeous ammonite (petrified shell) jewelry.

The ring is a greeny gold and the earrings have that color, plus blue and purple. The setting is very tailored and minimal and she loves them. Great job David! Another birthday surprise was the release of the February/March edition of ARTICLES.

february-march-2014-articles-cover-1

It is a Stark County, Ohio-based magazine celebrating the audible, edible, and visual arts. Inside is an article about designer owner of Knitspot, Anne Hanson. How cool, right!?

I was so excited when I first read the article because it featured quotes from my mom Anne C and included a couple pictures of me modeling Knitspot handknits.ย It’s a great article about how Anne started her business and how it’s grown over the last few years. You can read the entire article onlineย hereย (make sure you scroll down;the article appears on page 10).

Happy Birthday from the Knitspot Team. We can’t wait to hear about the rest of your birthday surprises!

  1. Happy Birthday! We knew David had good taste since he chose you, the jewelry is just another reminder of that, eh?

  2. Happy Birthday, Anne! Sometimes it feels as if most of the women I like are Aquarians! And, thank you Sarah for sharing the pictures.

  3. Hi Anne, best wishes for a wonderful birthday. Enjoy your respite in sunny San Diego with Ms. Kim!

  4. Belated Happy Birthday. What gorgeous jewellery. The linked article was very interesting – background in Speech Pathology. We have something in common!

  5. Hope you had a wonderful birthday! I’m so envious of your jewelry present – David has wonderful taste!

  6. A belated happy birthday to you, Anne. I really enjoyed the article – I was convinced you had an engineering background! What a varied person you are. It’s your birthday, but you do the giving. You are a gift to those of us who aren’t blessed with your many talents. Thank you – and I pray the next year will be full of blessings for you and David.

  7. oh thank you dear sarah and everyone else too, who sent me these kind birthday wishes! we are having a lovely visit and lots of knitting this week as well. preparing a post now about my travels this week!

  8. Hope you had a wonderful birthday dear Anne. Remember you get to celebrate for the entire month. The Month of Anne! Go for it.

  9. Really enjoyed the article! Now even more people will know about the fabulous patterns and yarn available from Knitspot. I think that Anne’s patterns are the most well-written that I have EVER used. I just reorganized my patterns. They fill a 4-drawer file cabinet, and that doesn’t include the magazines or books, just the individual downloaded paper ones, so I have read lots of patterns! I always go to the “Knitspot” folder first when I’m looking for a new project to knit. I can always find something for all the different people I knit for, including my granddaughters and friends’ babies. And I think I learned more in a Two-day workshop with Anne than I had learned in the 50 previous years of knitting!
Enjoy San Diego, Anne, and a very happy birthday.
