for those who are interested, elizabeth let me know that there is a thread for the moth shawl going on the knitter’s review forum.
and there is a yahoo group of shawl knitters, where the pattern was also mentioned and is being worked by several members.
there is another group called Fibertraditions at yahoo with members talking about moth shawls.
i’m sure these will be great resources for anyone who has questions or thoughts to share as they work through the pattern.

  1. Anne,
What do you think about fingering weight Frog Tree Alpaca (210 yards per 50 grams) for this pattern? I have 7 skeins each in 2 colors on their way. Or would it be too heavy?

  2. OMG! O!M!G! How amazing.

Would you post a closeup of the pattern? Please? Pretty please?

(very demanding of a new reader, I know)

  3. Anne,
More than your beautifully proficient knitting, and your well put together blog, it’s your gracious attitude I admire.

    Keep on keepin’ on!

  4. I adore this shawl, but was wondering which yarn you used for the ones pictured here.

Is it kid silk haze? If not which other brnad do you recomend.

I tried to send you a private email but it was undeliverable.

  5. Ok, I was trying to resist since I have yet to finish the Flower Basket shawl (I haven’t touched it since June.. I think) But I can’t resist any longer. There are two balls of Zephyr in my stash screaming to be knit into this.

  6. Is the shawl modeled by the doll a scaled-down version of Wing-of-the-moth pattern, or is it some other pattern and if so, name of pattern, please? I have some laceweight I am dying to use, but have never knit a “real lace” project (yarnovers, k2 tog. can’t really be called “lace” can they).

  7. Must. Have. This. Shawl. Pattern!

I’ve been watching its development, and now that it is here and available for purchase, count me in. Off I go to PayPal…

  8. Hi there
I love your shawl pattern, and am very touched by your willingness to share it.
I don’t use paypal. Can you please give me an address to which I can send a money order?
    Thank you

  9. I click on the “click here” to order and all I get is this page to leave a reply. How can I order Wing of the Moth pattern?

  10. oh, WOW. I saw Wendy’s version of this (wendyknits), and it’s even prettier in the light color.

Adding this to the project queue, for sure. *droool*

  11. Hi I would like to purchase a Wing of the Moth Shawl pattern I am currently in a class with Kathy from Colorado.

  12. Hi,

I love your shawl. I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and I don’t use paypal. Can you please give me an address to which I can send a money order?
Thank you and have a nice day!

  13. I would like to order the pattern for Wing O-the Moth. I have PayPal so send me the invoice so I can pay you.

  14. I sent paypal and an email saying I wanted the wing o the moth, but they were separate. I have not gotten the email yet, so I was wondering if there was a delay in sending them out?

  15. would like to order wing of the moth pattern. am going to paypal now.

    Thanks.

    Christine

  16. Hi –

I purchased your pattern in mid-December and have a question for you. In reverse stockinette ridge (between Fir Cone and Twin leaf) on Row 4, my stitch count is 174 sts on each long side. Also, the pattern does not mirror from the center – is that correct? My Row 4 reads as follows:

    1 [M] YO P4 M 166 M P1 YO [ M 1 M ] YO P4 M 166 M P1 YO [M] 1

Could you please advise at your earliest convenience.

    Thanks,

    Shari Markbreiter

  17. I’d be interested in buying the Wing of the Moth shawl pattern.

Is there an address I could send a money order to since I don’t have a paypal account and I’m not interested in opening one.

    thank you,

    Sylvie

  19. Anne, I think I found an error in the corona shawl edging written instructions vs Chart C.
Row 5, in the written instructions it says K2, K23, K2, the chart shows purl stitches for row 5. My assumption is that the chart is correct otherwise the written instructions would say K2, P23, K2.
I didn’t see a correction in the above errata (unless I haven’t had enough coffee and I’m missing it!)

    Carla 🙂
