this pretty scarf and neckwarmer set was, funny enough, not my idea. but as soon as someone in our ravelry group put a bug in my ear, my eyes lit up and i ran with it. i loved the mental image of matching accessories for the eliza mitts; flirty girls like that require company to work their charms . . .
and i always wanted to design a cute scarf with pleated hems; the question is, what took me so long?
i just love how the stitch patterns translated into this yarn as well—every once in a while, a marriage of yarn and pattern is so perfect it takes your breath away and this is one of those times.
i just can’t decide which i like better—the gorgeous, silky drape . .
or the soft, luscious hand, perfect for petting or wearing right next to the skin.

my dear friend agnes made this whole delicious display possible with her gorgeous knit of the scarf shown here—my measly effort on the neckwarmer doesn’t begin to compare. i’m always so impressed with her beautiful (and speedy) stitchwork—even more so in person; i just wish everyone could see it first hand. thank you agnes, you are magnificent and not just because you do nice things for everyone, but just because.
and many, many thanks to kim at the woolen rabbit for her dye genius and ability to see exactly what i see, almost every time. she talked me into using this beautiful yarn for the original mitts and she was so right. then she proceeded to dye the absolute perfect spring color—just what we needed this year, right?

I am almost breathless just looking at how exquisite the scarf and neckwarmer are. The pattern and the yarn are truly a match made in heaven. I do hope that there’s going to be some of Kim’s yarn included in the Knitspot club. It would be wonderful to try it out. Agnes has certainly done you proud. More lovely patterns to add to my ever-increasing list of your designs. I hardly look at other designers these days!

That scarf and neckwarmer are just what I need for projects for the fall. I was looking for a neckwarmer similar to that and never found a pattern I liked. I agree with the comment that said she wants to touch the yarn. It is beautiful!

Oh Anne! That is gorgeous. Do you think I could use a worsted weight yarn to do that scarf? I have some glorious, soft gray yarn ( Indulgence by Cascade Yarns, Worsted / 10 ply 70% Alpaca, 30% Angora) that would look wonderful but would it work?

I am so grateful you designed the neckwarmer and scarf to go with the Miss Doolittle hand mitts. I bought the kit for the mitts from a yarn club, including the Woolen Rabbit yarn, and I was hoping you would follow it up with the neckwarmer. I should have enough yarn in the skein to do both the mitts and the neckwarmer. The Lucent yarn is delicious with that touch of cashmere in it, and the color you used is gorgeous. Hmm, I might even get another skein to make the scarf…
