Anne,
I ordered your delicato mitts pattern from a post back in January that I had tagged in delicious. I was coming to your main page to get your email to ask what had happened to my order–then I found your most recent post. I think I must have ordered the pattern the very day your announced your absence. You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your brother. And it appears you have a very loving, supportive community of friends to help you through a trying time.
Hi All,
I just wanted to keep you posted. I talked to Anne last night and she is doing well. She again thanks all of you for your prayers and all of your support. It continues to amaze and touch her. The calling hours were yesterday and as you may expect, Anne was very tired. The emotional strain is understandable. She thanks all of those who sent wishes to the service, it was very touching. I will continue to update you all and let me add, you are all very dear friends.
**JENNIFER*** If you want to email me privately, I can scan and send you a copy of the delicato mitts so that you have it and when Anne comes back, she can take care of the rest, at least this way you would have something. My email is debbiejusi@yahoo.com
Hugs to all of you and remember, if it doesn’t move..KNIT IT!!
Debbie

Anne– I’ve been gone for a bit, and I just came back to find out your terrible news. I am so, so sorry about the loss of your brother. The world probably seems like a large and terrible place to you right now, but I just want you to know that there is still joy if you care to look for it. I find it every time I come here to read your blog. Your presence here makes the world a kinder, friendlier, and happier place. I hope that all of our thoughts and words may do the same thing for you, even if it is in a small way.
You and your family are in my thoughts.

May you and your family find confort.best wishes
I am so sorry to read of your tragedy. I hope you and family can find some solace in happy memories.
I just read about your tragedy. I, too, lost my little brother. He died at the age of 30 from an aneurysm. The pain is so intense and deep and I feel so bad for you and your entire family. Take the time you need and take care of yourself and your family. We’ll all be here waiting.
I wish I had something poetic and comforting to say, but it’s never just right. I hope you’re well and healing.
Anne, dearest Anne,I’m away from home and have only just read your posting. All my strongest thoughts and support are with you and my arms around you. Love and hugs to help you breathe during this time.
So very sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you are holding good memories of your brother in your heart.
You are in my thoughts. I just lost my mom and it is so hard. If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to ask!
I just found your blog following a link to the exquisite, oh so feminine moth shawl and read your posting from earlier this month. I will be sending you warm, loving, supportive thoughts. Following is a quote by Oscar Wilde. I came across it listening to Episode 21: Secret Water from the Cast On podcast. This particular episode is a warm and somewhat bittersweet one about loss.
Where there is sorrow, there is holy ground.

Anne, I’m not sure when you’ll be up to getting these messages or when you’ll be getting home, but I wanted to let you know that I’ve been thinking about you and praying for you and your family. I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I’ve been checking in here and on Debbieknitter’s blog too. I know right now you are numb, but try to remember to take care of yourself. I think everyone who faithfully reads your blog misses you, and I for one send you warm comforting thoughts of peace during this time. I’ll continue to check in here and keep you in my thoughts. Anne, I’m so sorry to hear about your terrible loss. I’ve been a reader for a few months and I guess this is the reason you’ve been on my mind. I finally caught up with your blog today.
Anyway, please take care of yourself and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Anne, as you may or may not know, my family suffered a similar loss some time ago. At the time, I was surprised how much this poem someone left in my comments helped me. I give it to you now, hoping that it eases your pain, as it eased mine.
I am standing upon the sea shore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the
morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until at length she hangs
like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says; “There, she is gone! “Gone where? Gone from my sight.
That is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at that moment when someone at my side says, “There, she is gone!
There are other eyes watching her and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,
“Here she comes!
Lots of warm thoughts and hugs sent your way.
