  1. Hi Anne,
i am waiting for something green which helps me to forget our -17°. it is really very very cold.

  2. I’m kind of jealous. All it’s doing here is raining and I am sick to death of gray. I’ll bet this makes your trip to CA look even better.

  3. this is exactly what I have been doing all day! It is so quiet and peaceful (except for the hum of snow blowers). Enjoy your Saturday!

  4. thanks for sharing snow pictures – we’re feeling a little deprived here in Maryland.

  5. it’s easy to miss snow when it looks as picturesque as this, but visiting my parents over winter break reminded me of all the less picturesque parts, like having to scrape snow and ice off your car four times in a single day of running errands. i’m pleased as punch with today’s 70-degree temperatures here in orange county– hopefully the warm weather will stick around for your visit! (it’s been in the low 60s lately, which we consider “freezing.”)

  6. It snowed all day here today too. I went out once to get food and that was enough. Back to my knitting too. Nudge me when it’s Spring! Can’t wait for Poppy sock pattern!

  7. i just love these beautiful pictures of snow you keep posting there are spectacular, i wish we had snow over here in england, i haven’t seen any since i was a small child about 17 years ago. i would love to see snow like that outside my front door it would be magical.
    love nessaknits xxx

  8. ooh, I’m jealous of your snow! They promised us snow today, but it just rained. Snow is SO much better than cold rain. And prettier too.

    Have fun on your travels!

  9. Anne. Hold on my friend. 3 more days. I’ve ordered the best weather for you. The best. And it’s on its way!!!

  10. Wow…that’s a lot of snow, ever so spectacular. Gosh, I haven’t seen snow in years…one of the reasons that I moved to Florida (I hate to shovel). But your view on a snowy Saturday makes me think…hot chocolate and homemade bread (and knitting of course).

  11. We got nine inches of the white stuff over here in my area of Michigan yesterday. It was nice that it had all melted away but apparently Mother Nature is not quite done with us yet. It is perfect knitting weather.

  12. It looks like that in Chicago too, with another 2-4 inches expected and then we go into the deep freeze, which we’ll be sending your way. Hopefully you’ll be away when it visits. I think you’ll love the bison/cashmere. I’m making your Orchid Lace Mitts out of a bison/cashmere/silk/tencel blend that is just yummy. I messed up the thumb–didn’t read the pattern carefully, so I pulled some back and am on track again. A lovely knit!
