tidelines

Posted on Posted in patterns

the gentle curves and eyelets repeating along the length of this sock mimic imprints of bubbles and waterlines left in the sand at the tide’s edge. a simple-to-work pattern knit up in a cozy yarn that’s just right for chilly days inland or on the beach

shown here in new hue handspuns bunny hop, cheryl’s handspun merino/angora blend, colorway, dawn on the mountain.

cheryl is terribly excited about creating and offering her beautiful handspun yarn; please take a look at her other yarn and fiber offerings in her etsy shop, newhue handspuns.
thank you, rachel as ever, for making sure the pattern is spit-shined and ready to serve!
and thanks to lynne E for suggesting the perfect name . . .

  1. I second Seejenknit 🙂

And, WAHOOO you are heading out west for the Sock Summit. Awesome. Do we get any hints as to what class (or classes) you are teaching? (Man, I am still in awe at the list of famous knitterly people coming to our city. wow.)

  2. cute socks! but i’m loving the new pictures you’re taking of your socks even more. my fave is the last one that shows the heel just behind the leg of the stool. nice shot!

  3. Those are so pretty! Also, congrats on the Sock Summit teaching gig! I’m hoping I can head down the coast for it…

  4. Those look fantastic! Also, I read on the Yarn Harlot today that you’ll be teaching at the Sock Summit this summer and I was very excited for you! I hope I’ll be able to take your class!

  5. Those are fab socks ! i’m getting much more picky about sock patterns these days. There are so many to choose from. These will definately be next on my needles.

  6. Those are so pretty! I want some…can’t you just send me yours?!? That way I won’t have to go through the torture of learning how to knit socks on my own! (hee hee)

  7. Oh MY! I’m still in awe that I had anything to do with those socks! The pattern is perfect and beyond for the yarn! Thanks for putting your amazing talent to work on my yarn, I couldn’t have asked for better.

  8. I’ll have to admit that I wasn’t exactly wowed by this pair as we all were watching them as they grew on the needles, but seeing them together, on real feet, they are absolutely beautiful! Congrats on another pair of lovely socks that just sing!

  9. Ms. Hanson, I love this one. I knit a lot of socks, but most new patterns that I see leave me feeling “eh, I can pull that out of a stitch dictionary myself.” But THIS ONE. I am lusting. It seems like there are so few interestingly patterned socks that showcase multicolored yarns without getting lost or too busy. This pattern is definitely going to jump to the top of my queue…. I have just the yarn in mind!
