Knitspot’s Fall in Full Color 2012, a set on Flickr.

Anne and I have been super busy planning the 2013 club and we’ve been counting the days until signups open. This is the third year of the club. Can you believe it!? Each year Anne comes up with a club that is refreshing, inspiring and down right delicious. If you haven’t yet, play the slideshow above (link here). It’s all the projects and yarn from 2012. Go ahead. I’ll wait…

I’m sure you agree that it’s astounding Anne packed all that excitement into six monthly shipments. And even more impressive was the monthly eBook chapters – page after page of gorgeous yarn and design photography and bios about all the suppliers. Even though I knew every detail of the club’s shipments last year, I couldn’t wait to get a shipping notice from David. And when my mailman Robert delivered my club package I would squeal with delight. Every time. Then I would wait patiently for the pattern to be ready on the 17th of each month. I couldn’t wait to take a break and have Anne tell me all about the specialness of each month’s shipments.

For those of you new to the idea of FIFC, here’s the skinny:

Anne carefully selects six hand dyers and works closely with them to create a palette for the year. Through many color samples on various fibers from each dyer, she picks the best options for the club. Next Anne creates exclusive accessory designs that highlight the yarn’s unique color, qualities, and characteristics. Finally, Anne writes an eBook chapter for club members outlining the design process and her inspiration and includes the pattern. The yarn colorway and the knitspot design are exclusive to club members for one calendar year. This can all be your’s for 2013 by signing up here.

The packages are shipped monthly August through January. Though the club is six months with six yarns, Anne often designs multiple accessories so members have options when choosing their projects. For example, all of the accessories below were options for the October yarn from Studio June.

Or, club members can knit more than one project if they choose an extra yarn option with their membership. Ravelry clubhouse members fondly call this “double dipping”. Sometimes one scoop of yarn just isn’t enough to whet the appetite! Yes, you heard right. There is a clubhouse for members to chat about the yarn and share their projects. It’s an unbelievably fun group that is supportive from cake…to cast on…to bind off. You can join the group here.

I could go and on about the club and the magic it holds, but I think you might want to see for yourself by signing up for 2013 here.

If you need a little more convincing, you can get an idea of the club by viewing all the project details of 2012 on ravelry here. See you in the clubhouse!

  1. Aloha,

Luv your site and patterns. Is the pattern for the October yarn from Studio Jane available for purchase?

    Mahalo.
