a classy layering piece that sits neatly beneath a suit jacket or coat to provide that extra bit of warmth with a dose of professional flair (no loose ends to fuss with or mess with your style). in a sinfully rich yarn, this could be the perfect last-minute quick gift for that person on your list who has everything.

mona and stephanie at dye dreams have come up with a real winner in their new classy sox yarn—it’s soft as all get-out, but springy and machine washable, so it’s great for sox and accessories alike. look for it soon at their site, but in the meantime, check out their many other wonderful offerings as well as their four seasons sock club.

many thanks to david, who is as busy as the rest of us this week, but still happy to take time to make beautiful pictures!

  1. Anne, I think you are the most photogenic person! I’ve never seen a “bad” picture of you or a finished project that you model. You are so lucky to have David (and vice versa).

And you’re just a designing machine. I can’t keep up.

    Beautiful pattern : )

  2. That sure is a classy piece! I have decided that I will be making Christmas gifts starting next June! I think small projects will be perfect for summer knitting and this one would make a wonderful gift for some of the ladies in my life – or maybe for me!

  3. Beautiful! I showed the pictures to my husband and he agreed I should start right in……well, okay, after I get my sister’s early January birthday scarf off of the needles. Oh, but first I was going to start Matterhorn; then Cornrows and then…… 🙂
Don’t stop, though, Anne! They are all beautiful!

  4. I’ve had a lot of catching-up to do! I love everything! I especially enjoyed the post about the crocheted items and stash. Happy holidays, Anne!

  5. My mother, who taught me to knit when I was 12, would have loved this — unfortunately I didn’t really get into knitting until just before she died. But it is so nice to see something that is so “her”. Like a lovely memento!

  6. Here is the dumb question of the day – how would you know which size to knit? For an average size adult (not overweight), would the small be sufficient?

  7. Stunning as usual! And since I will be back (thanks in no small part to The Economy) in a professional wardrobe starting January 4th, I just may need this. (I should just quit grousing about the loss of knitting time and count my blessings!)

  8. Mr or Mrs Webmaster i just received a alert from my firewall when i opened your page do you know why this occured? Could it be from your ads or something? Thanks, really odd i pray it was harmless?
