pretty X 4

Posted on Posted in book reviews/events

a little while back, my friend tanis lavallée of tanis fiber arts, got in touch to let me know about a new collaborative collection she has created with fellow designer julie crawford of knitted bliss.

the stella collection is an eBook which includes four lace accessory patterns, two created by tanis and two created by julie.

each piece is quite different from the next, so the collection has a variety of styles and shapes as well as skill level—something for everyone and a true reflection of each designer as well.

the pieces take advantage of the variety of gorgeous yarns offered by tanis fiber arts—each design features one of the fingering weight bases that tanis dyes on.

the patterns feature both written and charted instructions, which i know many of us appreciate!

for more pattern details and/or to purchase the eBook, please visit the tanis fiber arts pattern shop or click over to the ravelry listing

now here’s the part that i think you’re going to love—tanis has provided a giveaway kit for one lucky reader of today’s post, consisting of the stella collection eBook plus one skein of her red label cashmere silk single in the velvet colorway

YUMM!

i can personally vouch for the luxuriousness of this yarn; i have a little iris shawlette on the needles right now in the chestnut colorway, which i’m dawdling over because it’s such a treat to work with.

if you’d like to throw your name into the pot to win this coveted kit, please leave a comment at the end of this post by 9 pm EDST on wednesday, august 8th. we’ll draw a name and announce the winner shortly thereafter.

and for a further treat, please read on into the next post; mister knitspot has stopped by to say a word or two about our luscious fall in full color yarn club, just about to begin shipping; it’s not too late to join us!

  4. I think the designs are not only original but practical and I can see myself wearing each one of them. It is a smart collection and worthy of being featured on the knitspot blog, since Anne is a practical, original designer herself. I would love to win the collection of patterns and the yarn; it might inspire me to get knitting agan since I have not picked up my needles for several months having been rather ill.

  7. 517 responses… just wow. You have come a long way since I began reading this blog – I think it was 2008. I found it through Yarn Harlot, who snapped a photo of you when she was passing through and provided a link, mentioned something about your good taste. Of course she is right. Back then you gave personal responses to every comment on the blog, but there were only a handful. I can’t imagine that you still would with this volume. It was especially encouraging to watch you grow past the days when your other line of work ended – you remained positive, and you chose to commit to knitting as your career. Congratulations on your success, tenacity and growth.
