scarfy block-y goodness

pears swimming upstream to mate.
i love this shot—it fairly vibrates with life.
let’s take a closer look at that fearless fibers yarn

lorraine hit the nail on the head the other day when she commented that it looks like tiffany blue.

it looks expensive, alright. what else for a little nothing?

and this—well this is rich

the texture just about lifts off the blocking surface.
just look at those highlights (drroool). man, i love this dicentra alpaca yarn, too.
lisa, who is the dyer, obviously has a way with coaxing out the inner light from a color.

the stitches lift and curl like a dancer—there’s so much energy there.
here’s a longer view

and here, the two of them together.

they look huge, but they’re not . . . more tomorrow, when (hopefully) they are dry.

  1. OMG,I gasped out loud when I saw the pictures. They are gorgeous. Are these the same yarn that were featured on your previous post? The design on your red scarf is really beautiful!!! I did not think much of the red yarn when I saw it in a ball. But the color is beautiful. I can see this in a shawl, hee, hee.

  2. OH my I love the red scarf I fell blah about it when i saw it before but the points oh the points have won me over! OH! I imagine doing that in a deep blue with tiny jet beads at the tip of each one, I can’t wait until this is for sale I might definitely have to buy this pattern… now off to find the perfect lace weight yarn for it!

  3. oooohhhhh….pretty! i thought i liked the pear scarf, but wow, the red one is absolutely gorgeous. i love that texture and the dance of the pattern. lovely.

  4. I absolutely CAN NOT wait to see these being modeled. I love both of the beautiful scarves you’ve created!

  5. Tiffany blue is absolutely the correct color of that blue. No wonder I like it so much. Not that I have anything from Tiffany’s, but still. A girl can dream. . .

  6. Will there be kits we can buy? Oh, they are both just so breathtaking, Anne! I will be going to Spain next month (and will be visiting Alhambra)–my father grew up in the region during the Franco years. It would be so lovely to be knitting this while I’m there to “take” the memories with me.
